I had to size up to M since my two puppies out grew the small size. These are just fine and my mini dachshunds don't like to be walked using anything else! Love the color variety!Finally a product that works as advertised!I have a small Shih Tzu weighting about 16 lbs; I purchased a medium size but it is snug. So measure carefully -- if in doubt .....size up.I purchased this harness for my 5 pound Maltese. Because this breed is known to have a soft trachea it is recommended to use a harness. It is easy on and easy off, he walks on a leash better with the harness, and after a little time getting used to wearing it he doesn't seem to mind it anymore. It is nice and sturdy and easy to clean.The size small fits our 8 pound shih-tzu nicely. She feels secure, but plenty of room to loosen it as her coat gets longer. I really like how simple the mechanism is to attach. Just slide the ring through the slit and secure the velcro. No additional clips and only one ring to attach the leash to. The harness appears to be well constructed and durable for many walks to come.I purchased this onesie for my poodle to wear after being spayed. Item is cute, lightweight, and fits her great.Order the next size up as they run smaller but a good harnessI Ike the harness..it doesn’t cover his body all the way which is good because of the hot weather
