I really think these Gloria Vanderbilt Avery Pull On Skimmer shorts are the most comfortable shorts (Bermuda Style, basically) that I have ever worn - super soft and very flexible fabric! Two problems with my order: 1. Amazon shows the Avery Blue/White Skimmer as the “Fairfax,” so it is a little misleading as the customer thinks she is getting a light faded blue color. The actual words depicted in the description does clearly state that the “Fairfax” is dark blue, which is what I received. I saw a reviewer comment her disappointed that she got the “wrong item,” and I can certainly see why she was confused. Additionally, what she thought she was purchasing based upon the picture, still would not have been what she thought she was ordering, as a blow up of the picture used shows the blue/white stripe pattern. (Just clarifying, as I am sure many of us were affected by that surprise if we hadn’t previews the wording, first.). 2. WOW! These do run large! When I tried mine on, at first, was delighted, as they seemed almost perfect and felt “like butter!” I did notice that they pulled on almost too easily, and the “Skinny” effect was actually loose in the legs. I figured that would be fine, though, as they felt so good! BUT after wearing them around house for about 10 minutes to see if they would stretch out too much, they started to slide down my body, beginning at the comfortable waist band. I could tell that the butt and the legs were also looking baggier, instead of just being a little bit wider in the legs. I felt sort of bad, because I wanted to wear these tonight! However, it also feels good to habe to size down (after having regained a lot of weight that I had kept off for 5 years)! There is ample room in the Fairfax color (which is dark blue as described, just not pictured), so if you don’t want to be hiking up these skimmer shorts all day, you can afford to order down a size. I’m sure they will stretch out to where you want them to be after a few minutes! I wonder if that will be the same for any other colors?All this being said, they truly are very comfortable and you’ll want to wear them daily - even more than your capris! Incidentally, I am 5’3” (not quite 5’4”), and they do fall below my knee a couple inches. Thsy part is not a problem for me.
